INSTALLATION + MAINTENANCE
GROUT
Check out our Satin Terracotta Installation Guide for more information on installation.
Helpful Install Tips
Consider crack prevention membranes, water proofing, flexible thin sets and grout for your installation, every project is unique and might require additional materials than our installation guides suggest! We recommend having a tile professional review your specific product prior to installation!
Although many tiles do not require top coats for extra protection, we recommend our Ultra-Low VOC Sealant!
TYPE We recommend Mapei Saltillo Grout for a more traditional aesthetic. For more color options, we recommend Mapei Ultracolor Plus grout.
JOINT spacing for Saltillo tile can vary from 1/4” to 3/4”; for tiles 6” and below, narrower joints generally produce a more modern aesthetic, while larger joint widths are suited for larger tile sizes creating a traditional look
COLOR We recommend against high pigmented grout colors. High pigmented grout colors can stain the surface of glazed and unglazed tiles.
COLORATION
LEAD TIMES
Red Pressed Terracotta coloration is form the natural clay of the Saltillo, Mexico region. For Brown Pressed Terracotta, a natural brown pigment is added to the clay prior to molding, keeping the brown coloration consistent throughout the tile.
Pressed Terracotta features our lowest color variation in terracotta but will still have some variation at a level of V2 due to characteristics of handmade tiles production.
Lead times are estimated based on production and shipping timeframes during time of purchase. Lead times are subject to change during the estimated production and transit timeframe. For order tracking, contact our Order Status team.
